Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger believe that Chelsea will experience a dip in form this season – and insists he that has no regrets about not bringing Cesc Fàbregas back to Arsenal.

Arsenal boss Wenger turned down the option to bring the former Gunners captain back to Emirates Stadium before the 27-year-old joined Chelsea from Barcelona this summer.

Fàbregas has been in impressive form since his move to Stamford Bridge, helping José Mourinho’s men top the Premier League table.

But Wenger is fully expecting the west London side to experience a “difficult period” in the coming months.

“I don’t regret not taking Cesc because we already had a lot of creative players in our midfield,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

“Chelsea will also have a difficult period [in the season]. Our schedule was extremely difficult and I have the belief that we can close the gap to them.”
