Former Chelsea Midfielder Frank Lampard believes Diego Costa could potentially be as successful as
Didier Drogba for Chelsea.

Diego Costa has made a sensational start to his Chelsea career after signing from
Atletico Madrid for £32 million this summer. The 26-year-old has scored nine
Premier League goals in seven games, and his conversion rate is a very
impressive 47.4%.
His powerful play and ability in front of goal have led some to compare his performances to club legend Drogba, and Lampard believes the Spain international could have a similar impact at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard, who is the club’s all-time top scorer with 211 goals, left Chelsea
at the end of last season to join New York City FC. He is currently on loan at
Manchester City until the MLS season begins, and the veteran scored an
equalising goal against his former club when the two sides met at the Etihad
this season.
Speaking about the comparisons with Drogba, the former England international
told Sky Sports: “Possibly yes.
“There is a long way to go, but in terms of attributes and what he can do, his body and the way he plays, the direct nature of his game, I think he can. He has to do it now over a long course.”
