Liverpool attempt to lure PSG winger to Anfield in January

Liverpool are ken to reignite their interest in PSG’s Ezequiel Lavezzi, the Metro reports.

Liverpool attempted to sign the Argentinian in the summer, but were unsuccessful due to Angel Di Maria opting to join Manchester United instead of the Paris club.

The Reds are still keen to bring in the 29 year-old, having failed to fill the hole left by Luis Suarez’s departure to Barcelona. The Uruguayan scored a huge 31 Premier League goals last season, in only 33 Premier League appearances.

Mario Balotelli has arrived to play his part for the Anfield club, but has only managed One Europa League since his arrival, and has been criticised for his lazy approach to the game.

The Paris club are expected to lose fellow forward Edinson Cavani in January, with the striker at the end of his tether having continually been used out of position.

PSG are unlikely to sell two star players in January, with their expected qualification to the knock-out stages of the Champions League.
